About Us

For nearly 30 years, Homeboy Industries has provided hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives to become contributing members of our community. Each year thousands of individuals walk through our doors and are welcomed into Homeboy’s community of mutual kinship, love, and comprehensive wrap-around services to address their complex needs in a therapeutic environment.

Last year, over 350 men and women participated in our core 18-month program which offers them full-time employment while they walk with peers and mentors to re-identify the truth of who they are and access services including tattoo removal, education, substance abuse treatment, workforce readiness, and mental health support. In addition, most of our services—including classes, support groups, tattoo removal, and workforce development—are open to the public at no charge, allowing us to reach approximately 8,000 additional community clients annually.

We are committed to Stand, Heal and Invest. We will stand with the demonized so the demonizing will stop, work for foundational healing so no one re-offends, and invest and believe in their future.

Operating as a non-profit organization, Homeboy Industries is also comprised of a dozen social enterprises which help fund the organization and provide training for program participants. Our businesses now include: Homegirl Café & Catering, Homeboy Merchandise, Homeboy Silkscreen & Embroidery, Homeboy Electronics Recycling, Homeboy Bakery & Farmers Markets and Homeboy Diner.
