About Us

Founded in 2004, Web of Benefit (WOB) assists survivors of domestic violence to become financially independent and break the intergenerational cycle of abuse by creating a step by step plan to reach their individual goals and rebuild their dreams. WOB accomplishes this by awarding Self-Sufficiency Grants to fund the first step of this plan along with necessary referrals and continued mentoring when necessary, with the requirement that each recipient “pay it forward” to three other survivors.

To date, WOB has awarded over 1400 Self-Sufficiency Grants to survivors of domestic violence for: housing stabilization, education, computers, child care, transportation, health care and micro-financing small businesses. Over the years, Web of Benefit’s and its Founder/ Executive Director, Jo Crawford, has been nationally recognized through numerous awards and press coverage including a CNN hero award in 2012.
