Elderwise

Elderwise is an organization dedicated to transforming attitudes toward aging in our community. Our intention is to infuse our values into the community and advocate for a shift from the medical to the social model (person/spirit-centered) of care for our elders through example and instruction. We accomplish this through our three unique programs.

The three integrated Elderwise components are: 1.An Adult Day Program that operates daily in a center that serves elders - most have some form of dementia - from the Greater Seattle area, provides enrichment along with providing a model in person/spirit-centered care. 2.Offsite or extension programs that take our unique classes and meaningful discussion group to nursing homes, assisted living centers and other residential settings for elders. 3.Training for long-term care professionals from throughout the Puget Sound region and statewide in our cutting edge philosophies and curriculum.
