Chicago Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Academy (Chi-STEM) will open its doors in August of 2019 for Pre Kindergarten to 3rd grade and grow to full capacity, grades prek - 8, in 5 years. The school was conceived and developed by a group of educators and community leaders in Chicago and New York, convened and led by Friends in the City Foundation, a community nonprofit organization.
The Chicago STEM Academy prepares students for the future economy through the teaching of science, technology, engineering and math. It is a growth mindset educational environment that emphasizes failure as an opportunity to grow, not a limit of abilities.
