Peninsula Interfaith Action's mission is empowering ordinary people to better their communities. PIA fulfills this mission through faith-based community organizing to address issues of local concern such as affordable housing, after school programs, health care for uninsured workers, availablility of public transportation, and improved public safety. Our mission is rooted in the shared values of our democratic and faith traditions. PIA's 25 member congregations on the San Francisco Peninsula create a powerful organization representing 16,000 families from diverse religious, racial and economic backgrounds.
