About Us

Solar Five is a residential solar installer located in Lexington, MA. Founded in 2014, the company is experiencing strong growth. As a Top 500 solar installer in the U.S., we are committed to building local partnerships through competitive pricing and unparalleled customer service.

Our mission statement is:

To assist Massachusetts homeowners in reducing our state carbon footprint and divesting from fossil fuels by switching to solar energy.

Our Rationale For Our Mission Statement:

The Global Warming Solutions Act and the Green Communities Act, both signed into law in MA in 2008, set economy-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goals, as well as specific programs to reach these goals. Incentives increase the accessibility of renewable energy installations, help consumers reduce electric bills, and provide Massachusetts cities and towns with energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities.

We are proud to help our state reduce its carbon imprint and divest from fossil fuels, one home at a time. We are proud of the trust our customers place in us during the forty+ year life of their solar system.

About Our Company's Community Commitments:

Our company hopes to reduce our state’s carbon footprint and create a “social-good” footprint in its place. To do this, we provide one large contribution to a non-profit per quarter and give smaller donations to a variety of non-profits per month. Last month, we were able to fundraise for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and fund two projects focusing on economic development through Kiva. We also sponsored two farmer's markets in MA.

We are one month into our four-month, $20,000 sponsorship of WGBH, Boston’s NPR news station. We chose this organization to support the lasting sustainability of fact-based, intelligent reporting, and local business (WGBH is the last locally owned TV & Radio Media company in Boston). We are particularly excited to sponsor content which informs listeners about environmental challenges and innovative, sustainable solutions.

Beyond these company-wide commitments, each of our members must be active in either a civic organization or a similar project, including Green Andover, Massachusetts Green 360, the Worchester and Lynn Chambers of Commerce, Portuguese cultural clubs, the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Rosie’s Place, the Freetown Public School System, and other non-profits.

The Outreach Assistant will plan and execute various community initiatives in line with our past efforts, while crafting a sustainable plan for our future social impact.
