Position: Co-Chair of the Board of Directors
Role Summary:
The Co-Chair of the Board will collaborate with the Board Chair, Executive Director (ED), and other board members to guide DelgraciaCorp during its transition from a founding to a working board. This position involves providing governance leadership, strategic fundraising, and acting as a trusted advisor and ambassador for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to the ED and support the organization’s leadership.
- Communication and Relationships: Maintain strong communication with board members, community partners, and stakeholders, including young families and funders.
- Board Development: Assist in recruiting diverse board members and consulting on board roles and responsibilities.
- Performance Evaluation: Coordinate with the Board Chair to conduct annual performance evaluations of the CEO.
- Governance and Oversight: Review and approve the annual budget, financials, and contracts, ensuring legal and fiduciary responsibilities are met.
- Meeting Facilitation: Plan and co-facilitate board and committee meetings, ensuring board resolutions are executed.
- Fundraising: Collaborate with the Board Chair and ED to generate substantial revenue and engage major donors and funders.
Term and Meetings:
- Serve a three-year term, with the possibility of re-appointment for one additional term.
- Board meetings are held quarterly, four times a year.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a nonprofit board member or chair.
- Successful track record in fundraising, attracting significant donations to a nonprofit.
- Deep commitment to DelgraciaCorp’s mission and the population it serves.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Integrity, assertiveness, and a passion for supporting young families.
Compensation:
Service on the DelgraciaCorp board is voluntary, with reimbursement provided for administrative support, travel, and accommodation related to board duties.
