Join us here on Monday, 7/7

On Monday, 7/7, we'll be hosting a livestream here to launch this new initiative around the world. We'll start at 12:00 pm ET and go for 10 hours, ending at 10:00 pm.

We hope you can join us—for a few minutes, or for as long as you like. To RSVP, please click here.

Zoom meeting

Since 1995, Idealist has been connecting good people with opportunities to do good. That's still our mission, but together there's so much more we can do.

What's this all about?

A better world is possible. We all know this in our hearts. So let's build it, one day and one community at a time.

To learn more, please scroll down this page, watch this video, read this presentation, or join us live on Monday.

A dream and an invitation: if some of us, many of us—enough of us—can agree on three simple things, we can unleash a wave of hope and creativity like we've never seen.

Before

First, could you see yourself in these words?

"Working with others, in a spirit of generosity and mutual respect, I want to help build a world where all people can lead free and dignified lives.”

Second, what might happen, in our community and around the world, if once a month—on 7/7, 8/8, 9/9, etc.—we encouraged each other to do one thing to make our corner of the world a bit better?

Idealist Day

To share, teach, build...

...plan, convene, advocate—or simply celebrate the great but often quiet work that so many people are already doing for all of us?

We are calling these 12 days Idealist Days, and they could include activities such as these, or any other action you can imagine and propose.

12 dates

Why these dates? Because they seem to be very memorable, and because they “work” everywhere (3/7 is March 7th in some countries and July 3rd in others, but 7/7 works in both).

And third, let's see each other, wherever we are

Hope can be contagious, but it needs to be seen. So to encourage and support one another, wherever we are, we can share a joyful symbol that each of us can use as creatively as we like. Like the recycling logo, but for doing good.

Logo with brush
Many logos

A broad vision to bring us together, a monthly opportunity to turn it into action, and a shared symbol to make it all visible. Are you in?

Thank you! Together we can push the limits of what feels possible in our lives and in our communities. How far? Let’s find out.
