Associate Counsel
Leonard Carder, LLP, located in Oakland, is looking for an attorney who has at least three years of experience in labor law, employment and employee benefits law, and/or litigation, with a demonstrated commitment to the goals of workers’ rights and the labor movement. Ideal candidates should have strong research, writing and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with unions, employee benefit trust funds, and workers. This is a hybrid position that requires in-person work in Oakland, California, with an anticipated start date in September 2025.
For more than 80 years, Leonard Carder has aided unions and workers involved in some of the most memorable labor struggles on the West Coast and has championed workers’ rights in precedent-setting litigation. We represent local and international labor unions and employee benefit plans, as well as representing employees in class actions, individual workers’ rights cases, and law reform litigation.
The salary range for associate attorneys with three years of experience or more is between $101,500 and $141,000 annually, depending on bar passage and experience. Associate attorneys are also eligible for loan repayment up to $4,000 per year and annual bonuses. Leonard Carder provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and cell phone reimbursement. After one year of employment, associate attorneys are eligible for Leonard Carder’s 401k plan, with employer contributions.
