    Description

    Chihuly Studio is seeking an Art Advisor, Fine Art Sales, to join our team. Chihuly Studio is the family-owned business of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly, where the Chihuly team is committed to a collaborative and passionate culture supporting the work, creative design, and excellent client service of our inspirational and distinguished artist, Dale Chihuly.

    The Art Advisor, Fine Art Sales reports to the Director, Acquisitions and Commissions, and is primarily responsible for cultivating and engaging new and existing client relationships, as well as providing relevant service to our representing galleries and other third-party sales channels to ensure sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded by selling Chihuly artwork to prospective and existing clients.

    This is an in-person role, based in the Studio five days per week, and occasional travel is required.

    The Studio’s Ideal Candidate has the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of art-related sales experience in the local and global art market, involving client-facing interaction.
    • Possess a professional, poised, and comfortable demeanor in working with a sophisticated clientele.
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to connect and forge networks in the targeted geographic markets.
    • Ability to work with discretion when dealing with highly confidential information.
    • Process and goal driven with superior organizational skills, in tandem with a strategic and creative approach.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of the team.
    • Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft CRM and Microsoft office products.
    • Multi-tasked with strong time management capability.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Execute the Studio’s strategic business development and sales plan to drive client activity by cultivating and establishing both new and existing clients.
    • Actively manage client relationships to enhance client loyalty and generate business; support key client activity focusing on generating new networks of clients and collectors to the Studio.
    • Drive key business proposals liaising with the applicable and necessary departments within the Studio on competitive and/or significant business opportunities.
    • Develop opportunities for private sale transactions and generate ideas for client contact/selling through technology platforms and innovation and in-person interaction.
    • Develop a deep familiarity with clients and their respective collections, anticipating and responding to their needs and artwork opportunities.
    • Together with the team, strategize, analyze, and formulate the development of new clients and implement development strategies. Provide monthly sales and strategy updates for the executive team.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing team to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the Studio.
    • Attend relevant social and art world events representing the Studio, i.e., gallery and museum openings, local, national, and global art related events to increase the network of contacts and relationships within the market of collectors and potential clients.
    • Support the relationship with representing galleries and dealers in selling Chihuly artwork. Provide recommendations for consigned or curated groupings of artwork and sales opportunities, analyze, and recommend to the Sales Director yearly goals and incentives, provide contract terms support to legal.
    • Support specific gallery shows, including collaboration with the design, project management and PR/Communications team, onsite training of gallery sales teams as needed.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and opportunities.
    • Work with all applicable Studio departments as needed to meet client needs.
    • Keep sales leads, opportunities, and project information current in Vetro (CRM system).
    • Process sales orders, invoices and other documentation utilizing Vetro.
    • Conduct Studio visits and Client site-visits as requested.
    • Provide back-up support for other members of the sales team.
    • Deliver on revenue and margin based on the annual budget.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Fine Art Sales Director, VP of Sales and Marketing and/or the executive team.

    The annual compensation range for this role is $93,000 - $139,500.
