    Proper Southern Strategies (PSS) is a woman-owned firm headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas that provides an array of services, such as strategic advice, grantee support, subject-matter expertise, and customized technical assistance.

    Proper Southern Strategies is seeking a highly experienced, skilled, motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to serve as a contract Logic Model Specialist under the Connection Hub project. This position will support and lead the development of logic models that inform program designs and federal grant applications and will also support data outcomes and analyses. The Logic Model Specialist will advise on program components, processes, resources, and outcomes for multiple nonprofits as it relates to Hub-identified federal grant opportunities. Additionally, this role will be responsible for assessing nonprofits’ data collection and tracking systems and providing training and recommendations to implement systems as it relates to the federal grant opportunity requirements and the nonprofits’ goals.

    The Logic Model Specialist will work closely with the Hub Navigator & Logistics Lead, Grant Writer Leads, and the Chief Operations Officer and will report to the Hub Coordinator.

    Deliverables & Services

    The contractor that will serve as a PSS’s Logic Model Specialist is specifically responsible for the following deliverables:

    • Study and familiarize yourself with each NOFA to help nonprofit clients understand the purpose and priorities of the grant opportunity and meet requests and expectations.
    • Work with multiple nonprofit clients to understand their programs and craft logic models and support proposal development for Hub pre-identified federal grant opportunities.
    • Support and navigate the development of logic models that inform program design and federal grant application questions.
    • Offer practical time-sensitive suggestions, templates, and advice related to logic model best practices for federal grant requirements.
    • Coach both program design and model development as well as help nonprofit clients consider impact measurement.
    • Work with Grant Writer Leads to identify measurable outcomes and help advise on the development of data tracking systems.
    • Evaluate nonprofit clients’ current systems in place and advise on adjustments or system changes as needed to recommend changes that help ensure federal compliance; if needed, identify appropriate technology systems to track progress toward outcomes.
    • Advise nonprofit clients on necessary hiring to manage and execute the project logic model as needed.
    • Provide guidance and assistance to team members in understanding and implementing activities related to identifying measurable outcomes and data tracking systems.
    • Provide general support and follow up throughout the grant application process.
    • Coach nonprofits to build their capacity.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with Hub clients, key points of contact, and other technical assistance providers.
    • Be aware of and work in partnership to refer Hub clients to other technical assistance support as needed.
    • Follow internal timelines in a nonprofit's action plan as it relates to logic model, data tracking, and evaluation needs.
    • Must disclose any potential conflicts of interest with other Proper Southern Strategies clients.
    • Sign a confidentiality agreement.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5-10 years of experience with reviewing and developing logic models.
    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
    • Ability to quickly understand an organization’s structure and identify gaps related to a federal grant opportunity.
    • Experience with program design as it relates to data collection and evaluation.
    • Knowledge of and recommendations for data tracking templates.
    • Knowledge of databases and technology tools/software that can aid in federally compliant data collection.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Arkansas data sources (census, American Community Survey, ALICE, Aspire, Department of Education, MySchoolInfo, etc.)
    • Ability to be flexible and responsive when federal grant opportunities arise.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work with nonprofits of various sizes, capacity, and sophistication.
    • Ability to be responsive and flexible to the needs of the nonprofits.
    • Ability to identify gaps related to the federal grant.
    • Strong experience with and understanding of NOFAs.
    • Experience working with nonprofits and/or government agencies.
    • Ability to devote approximately 25 hours per month.
    • Fully vaccinated and able to show evidence as such (in the case of any in person convenings).

    Preferred Background & Skills

    • Federal and state grant experience.
    • Background in the nonprofit and/or government sector(s).
    • Skills in the budget building and/or nonprofit outreach/coalition building fields.

    Location for Work & Term

    The Logic Model & Data Specialist will work remotely. Candidates must reside within the United States, preferably in the Central Standard Time Zone. Preference will be given to candidates located in Arkansas.

    Compensation

    This position will require approximately 25 hours per month on average through December 2025 (with potential for renewal), dependent upon available federal grant opportunities. Some months will require minimal engagement, while others may be busier. Hourly rate will be based on experience and qualifications.
