    Description

    We are Wingo NYC – a growing fundraising and donor communications consulting firm, seeking an energetic, driven and creative Development Associate who is passionate about social justice. We are looking for someone with a keen attention to detail and strong communication and project management skills.

    Wingo creates powerful and sustainable individual and capital campaigns, digital marketing programs and special events for social and cultural change. Wingo NYC has strengthened 400+ nonprofit clients since 1996 by providing hands-on nonprofit fundraising, event production, digital engagement and design services.

    This full-time staff position will support fundraising work and cultivation event planning for clients. They will help to move contract deliverables forward as we work with organizations to build and manage donor prospect pipelines, create beautiful fundraising solicitation and cultivation materials, manage capital and anniversary campaigns, conduct prospect research and implement a variety of donor events. The Associate will work with our four-person fundraising team and report to the Senior Fundraising Associate.

    Duties:

    • Join and participate in weekly client meetings
    • Lead the planning of donor cultivation events, including, but not limited to working with vendors (catering, photography, etc), reviewing contracts and invitation list management, coordinating venue set up, managing guest check-in and preparing event follow-up communications
    • Create and maintain client donor/funder prospect trackers
    • Assist with client fundraising appeal data including mailing lists
    • Produce and oversee print and digital mailings
    • Assist with board trainings, including preparing necessary materials
    • Research individual, foundation and corporate donor prospects using the Foundation Center Directory Online, iWave and other online research methods
    • Provide administrative support, including scheduling client meetings, making follow up calls and emails
    • Write social media posts for donor communications
    • Draft fundraising communications
    • Create project calendars and timelines
    • Assist with host committees and peer-to-peer fundraising teams
    • Conduct research to support events, including prospective venues, vendors and client marketing items
    • Collaborate with other internal teams, such as Design and Digital Marketing teams, on Year-End Appeal projects and case material development
    • Provide other client support and fundraising team management, as needed

    Experience:

    We are looking for a candidate with 2-3 years of nonprofit fundraising or communications experience who can fill this role with competence, grace and humor. Must be an expert multitasker with a calm and level-headed energy; the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in group settings; a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms); experience in special events support; a demonstrated commitment to social justice and the missions of our clients; and be able to work evenings as needed for client events.

    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary is $60,000 per year. Benefits include 15 days of paid time off (after 90 days of employment and with supervisor’s approval), eleven national holidays, five sick days, Summer Fridays, a week off between Christmas and New Years Day, $550 per month towards health insurance, access to dental and vision insurance, 401(k) and more.     Location:

    The position is hybrid in-office in New York City and remote, with the expectation the new staff person will work in the office at least Tuesday through Thursday each week. Wingo headquarters is a sun-filled office near the transit hub of Penn Station in Manhattan in New York City.
