    ATTORNEY POSITION

Meaningful Legal Work for a More Just and Compassionate World

The Center for Nonprofit Law is a mission driven, boutique law firm based in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. For over three decades, we have provided trusted legal counsel to thousands of nonprofits that are shaping a more just, equitable, and sustainable society, from social justice and humanitarian organizations to local arts, education, and community-based groups.

We are seeking an additional Attorney to join our team full-time. This is a unique opportunity to do meaningful work in a supportive, values-based firm where you will have the possibility of growing into a future leadership or ownership role.

    WHY THIS POSITION IS UNIQUE

    Mission-Focused Practice

    • Every case and client you support is helping to build a better world. Your work will directly strengthen the nonprofit sector.

    Supportive Team Culture

    • We’re a small, collaborative team that values kindness, curiosity, and professional integrity. We laugh together, support each other, and celebrate shared wins.

    Family-Friendly Flexibility

    • We understand that life outside of work matters. Our firm supports flexible schedules when needed and values work-life balance.

    Growth & Ownership Opportunity

    • This isn’t a revolving door associate role. We’re looking for someone interested in a long-term professional home with a potential path to partnership.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Serve as trusted counsel to a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients.
    • Advise on matters including employment law, contracts, governance, risk, and regulatory compliance.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and memoranda.
    • Juggle multiple matters with a focus on responsiveness, quality, and building strong client relationships.
    • Conduct board trainings for small to medium-sized groups; must be comfortable with public speaking, presenting complex information clearly, and facilitating interactive learning sessions.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    Licensed Oregon Attorney

    • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience, ideally in employment and contract law. (More experienced attorneys welcome).

    Strong Communicator & Writer

    • You can translate complex legal concepts clearly and with care. You’re comfortable advising clients and producing high-quality written work.

    Collaborative & Mission-Aligned

    • You thrive in a team setting, share our values, and are excited about serving nonprofit organizations doing good in the world.

    In-Person Availability in Eugene

    • This is an on-site position.

    Nonprofit Law Experience

    • A plus but not required. We’re happy to train the right person who is eager to specialize and grow.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Center for Nonprofit Law is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating a work environment that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
