    Job Summary:

    We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead the financial strategy and day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of nonprofit clients. In this client-facing role, you’ll balance big-picture analysis with hands-on bookkeeping - delivering clear, actionable insights while ensuring accuracy in every detail.

    This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that’s perfect for someone who enjoys building financial systems, guiding leaders through strategic decisions, and ensuring smooth, compliant operations. Experience with nonprofit finance, GAAP reporting, and client relationship management will set you up for success.

    Finance Manager Key Responsibilities:

    Client Relationship Management

    • Serve as the dedicated finance lead and primary point of contact for 10+ client accounts
    • Build trusted, long-term, relationships with nonprofit executives, board members, and other stakeholders
    • Anticipate client needs and provide proactive, strategic recommendations
    • Manage client engagement timelines and deliverables in alignment with 100 Degrees Consulting’s standards
    • Spot opportunities to expand services and deepen support as client needs evolve

    Financial Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare comprehensive monthly GAAP-compliant financial statements
    • Translate financial data into clear, actionable analysis for nonprofit leaders and boards
    • Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis and highlight key insights
    • Support monthly forecasting and cash flow modeling to help clients plan with confidence

    Compliance & Risk Management

    • Monitor and maintain ongoing financial compliance across client accounts
    • Ensure audit readiness through proper documentation and systematic record-keeping
    • Stay current on nonprofit regulations and GAAP requirements
    • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audit processes

    Strategic Financial Planning

    • Lead annual budgeting process from initiation through board approval
      • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather input and align budget priorities with organizational mission
      • Develop realistic budget frameworks based on historical analysis and strategic goals
    • Create multi-year financial projections and scenario planning models
    • Conduct periodic budget review and recommend adjustments as needed

    Cash Flow & Forecasting

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive cash flow reporting for clients
    • Provide monthly forecast updates based on actual results and revised projections
    • Create scenario planning models to help clients navigate financial uncertainties
    • Identify potential cash flow challenges and recommend solutions
    • Support overall organizational strategic decision-making through financial modeling and analysis

    Grant & Restricted Funding Management

    • Support grant funding initiatives and grant compliance requirements
    • Provide real-time expenditure tracking systems for grant funding
    • Prepare accurate financial reports for funders
    • Assist with grant applications by providing financial projections and budget development

    Payroll & Cost Allocation

    • Implement payroll allocation methodologies across programs and funding sources
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting all allocations

    Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with other Finance Managers and team members to share knowledge, improve processes, and share wins and challenges
    • Contribute to a collaborative and solution-oriented internal team culture

    • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to solve problems and support both strategic and day-to-day financial operations

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Proven experience in nonprofit financial management, including 990 preparation, nonprofit audits, FASB and GAAP requirements, and restricted funds management
    • Advanced Quickbooks skills (Preferably ProAdvisor Certified)
    • Proficiency with financial tools and software like QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets, Excel, SaasAnt, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Expensify, Slack, Keeper, Zoom, Gusto as well as experience with software integrations with Quickbooks Online
    • Exceptional client service skills with a proactive approach to solving problems
    • Ability to seamlessly manage a roster of 10+ clients and their individual priorities and needs
      • All new hires onboard with a smaller roster of clients with the expectation of reaching minimum capacity within 3-4 months
    • Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational and project management skills

    Bonus Skills/Abilities:

    • Financial modeling expertise beyond basic forecasting
    • Experience presenting financial information to nonprofit boards
    • Change management skills and ability to guide organizations through financial transitions
    • Understanding of fundraising analytics to help clients connect their financial data to their development efforts
    • Advanced Google Sheets proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas, data visualization)

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, nonprofit management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 2–5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a proven track record in higher-level responsibilities such as senior bookkeeper, staff accountant, or similar roles
    • Minimum of 3 years of nonprofit finance experience (direct employment, consulting for nonprofit organizations, providing financial services to the nonprofit sector)
    • Proven success in client-facing roles with strong relationship management skills

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
    • Repeated and coordinated use of your hands, wrists, and fingers to use and type on a computer keyboard, requiring the use of fine motor skills
    • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to stand for extended periods during the annual team retreat

    Schedule:

    • Remote - Full-time, exempt position
    • 8-hour shift, closely aligned with a 9am-5pm Eastern
    • This role requires frequent Zoom meetings, including 3-4 client meetings per week and 1-2 internal team meetings per week, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

    Logistics:

    • This is a full-time, exempt, W2 employee position.
    • We offer a flexible, remote work environment.
    • You must be available to respond to team communication and take meetings during regular business hours in the US, closely aligned with a 9am-5pm Eastern schedule.
    • You have your own computer and stable internet access.
    • You maintain a workspace free of unnecessary distractions where client and internal calls may be taken in a professional manner.
    • You are able to be on video chat for scheduled meetings
