    Simply stated, the mission of the State Park system is to conserve and interpret on behalf of the people of Vermont their natural and cultural heritage, while providing recreational opportunities and economic benefit. The emphasis in this dual role is provided within the ability of the natural and cultural resources to support compatible activities.

    About Us

    Vermont State Parks was founded in 1924 and provided developed and dispersed recreational experiences in over 55 locations throughout Vermont. We operate campgrounds and beaches, hiking and biking trails, nature centers and school programs, rent boats and provide places for people to run, hike, ski, snowshoe, relax and enjoy nature year-round.
