    Executive Director

    Position Summary

Voice and Vision is seeking a visionary, compassionate, and community-rooted Executive Director to lead our mission-driven organization into its next chapter of impact and growth. We are a nonprofit committed to transforming lives by supporting people’s Vision for themselves, valuing each person’s contributions, and respecting the Voice/experiences of those most impacted by the challenges we seek to address.

The Executive Director will serve as the steward of Voice and Vision’s mission, working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, and community stakeholders to ensure that our work is grounded in the lived experiences of those we serve. This role calls for a leader who brings professional excellence and a deep personal commitment to fostering a welcoming culture, cultivating growth, and driving positive change in the systems of care.

    Core Responsibilities

    Mission Stewardship & Strategic Vision

    • Champion the mission, vision, and values of Voice and Vision, ensuring that lived experience and community voice are at the heart of decision-making, programming, and organizational strategy.

    Collaborative Leadership

    • Partner with the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team to shape and implement a long-term strategic vision that drives meaningful, measurable change in the lives of those we serve.

    Organizational Development & Culture

    • Cultivate a values-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered culture that supports staff wellness, professional development, and accountability. Model inclusive leadership practices that elevate diverse perspectives and honor lived experience.

    Growth & Impact

    • Lead sustainable growth efforts, balancing innovation with operational excellence. Strengthen internal systems, staffing, and infrastructure to support organizational capacity and long-term impact.

    Data & Evaluation

    • Lead efforts in survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting to assess program effectiveness, inform strategic decision-making, and ensure accountability to the communities we serve.

    Financial Stewardship

    • Ensure sound financial management and resource development, including fundraising and donor cultivation, with a commitment to transparency, sustainability, and community reinvestment.

    External Relations & Advocacy

    • Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for Voice and Vision, building authentic relationships with community members, partners, donors, funders, and policymakers to advance our mission and strategic goals.

    Team Leadership & Talent Development

    • Lead, mentor, and support a diverse, high-performing leadership team using a strengths-based, coaching approach to supervision and leadership. Foster a collaborative, problem-solving team culture that values shared learning, accountability, and mutual support. Create pathways for emerging leaders, particularly those with lived experience, to grow and thrive within the organization.

      • Proven track record of senior nonprofit experience, ideally in a mission-aligned setting.
      • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with a nonprofit Board of Directors.

      • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field preferred.
      • Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice, behavioral health systems, or community-based work.
      • Strong skills in relationship-building, team development, fundraising, and operational and financial oversight.
