National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer an Exempt, Full-time position that will develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies. This role is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and collaborative marketer with a passion for supporter engagement and digital marketing.

About the NFF: The National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress in 1993 and is the official national partner of the US Forest Service (USFS). The Foundation leads with impact through three pillars of work: wildfire risk reduction, reforestation, and recreation for all. NFF works closely with communities and organizations across the nation to help advance the Foundation’s mission to restore, enhance and connect all Americans to National Forests and Grasslands.

The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue, and organizational capacity. Moreover, as a leader in forest conservation, the Foundation deploys 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193-million-acre National Forest System. The Foundation’s core values reflect our forward-looking and innovative approach to building generational legacy.

Position Function: The Email Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of Content & Campaigns and will work to support the planning, execution, and performance tracking of our email marketing program. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of campaigns that align with our brand and business goals.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Email Marketing Coordinator will:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies, including lifecycle campaigns (welcome, solicitation, retention), ensuring alignment with broader marketing goals.
    • Collaborate across the Marketing and Advancement teams to develop compelling email content that aligns supporter lifecycle activities throughout the marketing and fundraising calendar, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Utilize segmentation, behavioral data, and predictive analytics to deliver personalized, targeted, and dynamic email content that enhances supporter engagement and retention.
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and revenue impact. Use insights to optimize future campaigns.
    • Design and execute tests (A/B, segmentation, etc.) on subject lines, creative, offers, and send times. Use results to refine strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.
    • Ensure all campaigns comply with regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA) and maintain high deliverability by monitoring bounces, complaints, and platform health.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in email marketing platforms and CRM tools. Stay current with industry trends and explore opportunities to expand into SMS and push notifications.

Education and Qualifications: The NFF expects the Email Marketing Coordinator to possess the following educational and experiential qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree, professional certification, or equivalent experience.
    • 3–5 years of experience in email marketing or digital engagement—ideally for a growing brand or organization.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Abilities and Skills: The NFF expects the Email Marketing Coordinator to possess the following proven abilities and skills:

    • Strong writing and storytelling skills, experience developing compelling content that communicates the brand to key audiences to inspire action.
    • Proficient in major email marketing platforms and marketing automation providers (e.g., Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Raiser’s Edge NXT), with experience executing and optimizing campaigns.
    • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills, capable of developing and implementing lifecycle email strategies that nurture donor relationships and mobilize supporters.
    • Data-driven and analytical, with experience in A/B testing, segmentation, and performance reporting to optimize email impact and engagement.
    • Strong understanding of segmentation and personalization, and lifecycle marketing with a proven ability to drive engagement and revenue.
