Hi there! 👋

It's finally fall here in NYC, and I can't wait to celebrate the season. For me that means wearing fuzzy sweaters, apple picking and (safely) celebrating Halloween. So I put this email together to help you get into the spirit too! Read on to find creative ways to celebrate Halloween, fall-themed volunteering opportunities, and more. Hope you enjoy!

Community Spotlight

Communities around the country are creating "candy chutes" so trick-or-treaters can collect their candy safely! Anyone can try this creative idea. Just buy a PCV pipe, decorate it, and send down the treats! For more inspiration, check out this candy chute in Virginia.

Opportunities to make a difference

🇺🇸 Get involved in the U.S. presidential election: Join a nonpartisan text bank to share information on poll locations, and apply for a job building multi-racial coalitions among voters. 

🎃 Celebrate Halloween! Create a spooky, homemade card for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and bring your leftover pumpkins to a farm to feed the animals. 

📚 Support education: Become a Sunday School teacher at an Islamic community center, teach mental health education sessions, or teach computer literacy to refugee/immigrant populations.
