    • Help develop and lead public workshops for our Housing Curriculum on topics such as Housing 101, Community Organizing, and typologies of good housing.
    • Assist the Organizing Team in setting up local chapter outreach events, like happy hours, charettes, and door-to-door canvassing.
    • Conduct research and analysis of housing projects and their impact on low-income, renter, and communities of color.
    • Support with copy-writing work such as drafting action alerts, press releases/public statements, and talking points.
    • Attend in-person events and represent AHLA as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in urban planning, public policy, sociology, political science, or a related field (preferred).
    • Proficient research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources.
    • Love of community, networking with strangers, and building relationships.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and/or Google Workspace.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting.
    • Passion for addressing housing affordability and advocating for equitable housing policies.

    Benefits:

    • Opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and advocates in LA’s housing field.
    • Flexible work schedule with the option for remote work.
    • Professional development opportunities and mentorship.
