    One To World Global Classroom Program

    Global Classroom Internship Fall 2025 (HYBRID)

    One To World, a non-profit organization that provides programs to New York City’s international university students and Fulbright scholars, is seeking an intern for the Fall 2025 semester. Our intern assists in various facets of the Global Classroom program, during which trained international university students and scholars (known as “Global Guides”) facilitate intercultural workshops with K-12 youth about their home countries and cultures, including designing engaging games and activities. Global Classroom’s theme-based (Global Lives, Global Citizenship, etc.) workshops are creative, fun, and globally-focused. Global Classroom interns gain first-hand experience at an international education non-profit and have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world. Interns work directly with the Director and Coordinator of Global Classroom to fulfill the needs of the position, while also meeting their personal professional development goals.

    Internship Responsibilities:

    Facilitate thematic & project-based workshops for 3 - 12 grade students in public & charter schools, and community-based organizations throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC;

    Mentor Global Guides from a range of countries and cultural backgrounds to help them prepare for their workshops, including through Zoom planning meetings;

    Assist Global Guides with youth engagement & responsible classroom management during workshops;

    Communicate with Global Guides & program partners;

    Conduct program documentation & evaluation, including data entry, organization, & analysis;

    Create social media content to showcase accomplishments & partnerships, as well as spark interest in the Global Classroom program;

    Support the Global Classroom team with additional programming, including Global Guide & additional partner trainings, teacher professional development, & One To World special events.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree (preferred - highly motivated upper-level undergraduates may be considered); Experience leading or working with young people (required);

    Experience working in US schools & classrooms (highly preferred);

    Experience working in after-school organizations and/or summer camps in the US (preferred); Strong interpersonal & communication skills (oral, written, & cross-cultural);

    Interest or experience in global or intercultural education & exchange;

    Ability to take initiative & maintain flexibility;

    Strong organizational skills;

    Proficiency with Google Drive & Microsoft Office Suite;

    Ability to travel throughout NYC, including outer boroughs (required).

    Hours:

    15-20 hours/week, late August - December (with the opportunity to extend for the full year), working with the Coordinator of Global Classroom to set weekly working hours (some programs start as early as 8:30 AM and end as late as 5:30 PM).

    Compensation:

    Weekly stipend of $275 provided. We gladly support your efforts to secure school credit & additional funding. (Note: One To World as an organization immensely values the experiences & perspectives of international students studying & living in the US. However, at this time, only US citizens, permanent residents, or international students with a CPT/OPT visa are eligible to be paid the weekly stipend.
