    Description

    Symphony Space seeks a creative, detail-oriented, and organized Graphic Design Intern to join its in-house Marketing Department beginning mid-to-late September 2025 and running through May 2026. The Design Intern will report to the Creative Director and will work closely with the Graphic Designer and members of various in-house departments.

    The position is hybrid, 10-15 hours per week, with mostly remote hours and two days per month onsite at our theaters located at 95 Street and Broadway in Manhattan. Each week there will be two marketing meetings, an all staff meeting, and one check-in meeting.

    $150 stipend per week, paid bi-weekly.

    Please note that all interns must be currently matriculating students.

    Symphony Space internships offer excellent professional/educational experience and training in the areas of arts administration and production, as well as the opportunity to be part of a leading performing arts organization while continuing and completing college- level study.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, edit, and produce a variety of print and digital material (including posters, ads, flyers, invitations, building signage, social media content, website/newsletter graphics, and video assets).
    • Work closely with the marketing team to deliver designs that are consistent with the brand and organization’s mission.
    • Update existing collateral, maintaining a consistent aesthetic.
    • Meet schedules and tight deadlines.

    DESIRED SKILLS & TRAITS

    • Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience with animations in After Effects is a plus.
    • Creative design portfolio
    • Excellent time management and communication skills.
    • Excited to work in a collaborative team and interact with all other departments.
