    Description

    About Us:

Acres4Change is a nonprofit organization rooted in land justice and creating pathways for BIPOC farmers to transition into land ownership. Our flagship project, Charm City Caps, is a gourmet mushroom farm and workshop space in West Baltimore. We grow fresh mushrooms and craft value-added mushroom products, including dried mushrooms, powders, and seasonings, while using agriculture, education, and business development to build community resilience.

    About the Role:

We’re looking for a proactive, creative Marketing & Community Engagement Intern to help us grow Acres4Change and Charm City Caps’ reach, sales, and brand presence. This role blends hands-on sales activities with social media and digital storytelling—ideal for someone eager to learn both direct sales strategies and marketing in a mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Do – Marketing & Outreach (Charm City Caps):

      • Conduct market research to identify target customers, price points, and trends for fresh mushrooms and value-added mushroom products.
      • Identify, contact, and secure wholesale customers such as restaurants, caterers, specialty grocers, and co-ops.
      • Build relationships with retail customers through farmers markets, pop-ups, and community events.
      • Support outreach and follow-ups to maintain and grow customer accounts.
      • Assist with order tracking, delivery coordination, and sales reporting.
      • Help create promotional materials for in-person sales and wholesale distribution.
      • Support fundraising events and campaigns, including donor outreach, event marketing, and on-site assistance.

    Social Media & Digital Marketing:

      • Design engaging social posts and reels using Canva.
      • Draft and schedule content for Instagram and Facebook.
      • Organize and maintain photo/video content from workshops, farm activities, and events.
      • Promote events, sales, and campaigns through flyers, email outreach, and online channels.
      • Contribute to storytelling projects that highlight our mission, impact, and customer community.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

      • Are highly proficient with Canva and social media platforms.
      • Enjoy building relationships and are comfortable talking with customers.
      • Love telling stories through visuals and writing.
      • Are organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
      • Are passionate about food systems, land justice, or environmental equity.
      • Want hands-on experience with a grassroots, community-focused nonprofit.

    Details:

      • Remote role with occasional in-person events; weekly check-ins.
      • Must have U.S. work authorization.
      • Gain mentorship, flexible scheduling, and portfolio-building opportunities.
