    Description

    Organization Overview:

Neema International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to investing in the lives of Tanzania's promising youth through education and sustainable building projects. Our work is based in Uru, a remote and impoverished village at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Neema currently supports over 500 orphaned or vulnerable children from the community and has provided jobs for over 50 local men and women.

Currently, we have 5 main projects underway including our Uru Community Pre and Primary School (UCPAPS), Neema International Educational Sponsorship Program (NIESP), DigiTruck, Neema Bags, and our new Secondary School.

We envision an equitable and reformational community in alleviating multi-dimensional poverty on a national level. By furthering education initiatives for our children, we simultaneously empower our Tanzanian youth to invest in themselves while providing employment opportunities to both local and international individuals, alike. Our mission strives to expand a local community that challenges the status-quo in procuring a global mindset.

    Program Overview

This role seeks creative and purpose-driven individuals interested in social media management, graphics, and content creation. With the outlook of furthering our social media presence and outreach, our team requires support in proposal writing, managing our media accounts, and providing dynamic solutions in boosting our outreach methods in an ethical and sustainable manner.. The intern will report to the Head of Partnerships and Communication and will collaborate across teams to ensure that our stories are compelling, actionable, and aligned with our strategic goals.

Interns will receive hands-on experience in NGO work driven towards supporting Tanzanian youth, education, and gender-equity initiatives. This experience will also aid in allowing individuals to immerse themselves in a new cultural and social setting while bolstering their creative portfolios.

This role is flexible and can be structured around a part-time, full-time, summer or academic schedule, making it ideal for individuals looking to build experience in marketing, NGO or Non-Profit work, and brand strategy. Please note that preferences are given to full-time participants.

    • Academic credits and references can be offered to college students who excel at their role.

    • Capture, edit, and synthesize all visuals to reflect our authenticity and dynamic environment.
    • Create graphics to promote events, projects, and organizational messaging for use across various social media platforms.
    • Regularly update and curate engaging content to grow awareness and measurable engagement with our work.
    • Assist in outreach to partners via proposals, virtual/in-person communication, and marketing materials.
    • Bolster our website and digital platforms with updated, accurate content reflecting our mission, vision, and achievements.
    • Offer new solutions to amplify our online presence and collaborate with our team to expand Neema International’s impact.

    Qualifications:
