    Organization Overview

    The ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY (ACE GNY) is a growing, free after-school program for high school students serving New York City, Westchester County, Rockland County, and Long Island. Students are mentored by professionals in the design and construction industry (architecture, engineering, and construction management). ACE GNY also provides scholarships and works closely with alumni to facilitate their transition into their professional careers.

    Job Description

    The Events and Program Administration Intern position is an exciting opportunity for a current student to support our mentoring program. The Intern will work closely with and be supervised by the Senior Director of Student Programs. This position will be an opportunity to strengthen one’s skills in administration and events management while working to support high school students in the NYC area, as well as ACE GNY alumni who are currently in college.

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Having an essential role in conducting outreach to students, alumni, and Human Resources Departments for companies in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management firms in the NYC area.
      • Representing ACE GNY in-person and remote events;
      • Supporting ACE GNY mentor teams, including supporting team leaders in creating and maintaining team workbooks, including database management;
      • Researching and creating resources for alumni, including outreach and program materials;
      • Assisting with other events as needed; and
      • Administrative/office tasks

    Key Requirements:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication;
      • Strong time management and multitasking skills;
      • Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player;
      • Comfortable working with diverse NYC communities;
      • Creative thinker with problem-solving initiative;
      • Takes initiative and is dependable with follow-through;
      • Knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn; and
      • Consistent availability each week is preferred.
