Position Overview
We’re hiring a Web Developer/Designer Intern to support the buildout of our new Squarespace 7.1 website over a three-month period. You’ll work closely with our communications team to design a user-friendly, visually compelling site that reflects our values, showcases our impact, and connects supporters to our mission.
About Us
Lifting Hands International (LHI) is a humanitarian NGO dedicated to providing aid, support, and hope to displaced individuals and refugee communities around the world. As we expand and evolve, we’re redesigning our website to better tell the stories of those we serve, and we’re looking for a passionate, creative, and mission-driven intern to assist in bringing it to life.
Internship Details
Duration: 3 months (August–October 2025)
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week
Location: Remote
Compensation: $500/month stipend
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and building LHI’s new website, customize templates, create layouts, and optimize UX across desktop and mobile.
- Collaborate with the communications team to implement content, visuals, and interactive features.
- Ensure the site aligns with LHI’s brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and help with basic SEO setup.
You Might Be a Fit If You
- Have experience with Squarespace 7.1
- Have experience with CSS/HTML or light custom coding
- Graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe Suite, Figma, etc.)
- Have experience sprucing up squarespace sites with plugins
- Understand responsive design, layout, and visual storytelling
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Care deeply about humanitarian work and want your skills to make an impact
