    Description

    Summary

Developing and studying how NGOS operate in development work in international relations.

    Details

Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic natural scenery and wildlife.

Your International Relations Program tasks include the following:

The placement involves practical community development work in African societies, including schools, companies, and various target groups such as women's development groups and environmental initiatives.

We collaborate with NGO consortia, including UNICEF and the UN, to achieve specific targets that contribute to the development of Tanzanian society.

We conduct human rights advocacy and provide support to those in need.

We advocate for development aid in Africa and highlight the benefits it brings to communities.

We offer options to tailor your tasks according to your internship preferences, including your preferred focus, studies, and previous experience.

The internship outcome is to apply your studies and experience in a work setting in developing countries.

Work hours are 6 to 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 months, and an internship is typically 2-3 months long. The placement starting dates are flexible.

Academic-level team leaders supervise your internship daily. We monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to ensure you complete your tasks successfully.

We can take students year-round, as all programs are ongoing. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, making your daily work with the community more effective and impactful.

Typical morning tasks include practical fieldwork in schools and local communities. Afternoons are spent on planning, reporting, and increasing social media visibility.

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is EUR 175 per week, a personal expense. However, after the first 13 weeks, the cost drops to €125 per week.

Airport transfers from and to EUR 120 are a personal expense.

A charity student or volunteer visa costs USD 50, which is a personal expense. A less-than-one-year multiple-entry charity visa for less than one year costs USD 250.

We pay you a $50 monthly stipend, which is small but twice the national minimum wage in Tanzania.

    Flights are a personal expense.

The local transport program in Tanzania is a personal expense, but small if needed.

You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable tours and safaris.
