    Description

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Intern will support the Senior Education Technical Advisor in strengthening the partnership between SAWSO and The Salvation Army Switzerland (SWI), enhancing program design, partner engagement, and MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) tool development. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global collaboration efforts, strategic program alignment, and capacity building across multiple territories and countries.

    A. SAWSO/SWI Partnership Strengthening

    • Review and analyze existing community development strategies to identify alignment opportunities
    • Assist in co-creating a joint program portfolio aligned with territorial strategies and organize planning sessions.
    • Document partnership learnings through case studies and share findings internally and with partners.

    B. Programs and Partner Engagement

    • Review the Africa Strategy and extract applicable tools and lessons for other territories; prepare summary reports for dissemination.
    • Conduct cross-zonal reviews to gather insights and support zonal strategy and tool development.
    • Map and classify common operational areas/sectors of SAWSO and SWI to identify synergies for joint programming.

    C. Tools – Common Framework and MEAL Strategy

    • Help identify and validate core indicators for program sectors with technical teams and partners.
    • Develop user-friendly guidelines for indicators and support dissemination through training/webinars.
    • Conduct an Inventory existing tools and propose streamlined Project Cycle Management processes and templates.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in International Development, Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and cultures.
    • Basic understanding of project management, MEAL frameworks, and community development principles preferred.
    • Interest in data collection tools and digital project management platforms is a plus.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    A valid driver’s license.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to learn and retain the broad scope of all NHQ section operations and services in order to serve as an effective information resource and to aid in a timely and effective manner.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple deadline projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
    • Ability to gather, compile, and assemble information into a final professional appearance product for letters, records, reports, etc.

    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    Ability to meet attendance requirements.

    Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate the English language.

    Demonstrated research and analytical skills
