    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Salvation Army is seeking a qualified bilingual intern (English and Spanish) to assist the Construction and Real Estate Development Advisor in streamlining building asset documentation across various territories. The intern will support documentation, evaluation, and cataloguing efforts as part of our global infrastructure oversight.

    The Intern will support the technical and administrative functions of the Construction & Real estate development portfolio, specifically:

    • Preparing and evaluating Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for minor projects or sample properties
    • Drafting minimum level drawings using Revit software (e.g., floor plans, site layouts)
    • Organizing and categorizing existing property data across designated Salvation Army territories
    • Assisting in the preparation of visual and digital catalogues for properties
    • Translating key documents and communications between English and Spanish as needed
    • Supporting communication with Spanish-speaking territories for data collection and verification

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Performs other related work as required and assigned by the Technical Advisor for Construction and Real Estate Development (TA-CRED)

    Must demonstrate dependability through attendance and punctuality.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    The preferred applicants should be enrolled in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar programs. A third- or fourth-year student or recent graduate is preferrable.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    A valid driver’s license.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    The candidate must be Proficient in Revit software, have a Strong knowledge of quantity surveying or BoQ development.

    Must be proficient in Bluebeam and Adobe Photo suite.

    Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (primarily, Outlook, Word and Excel), must be fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

    Must also be detail-oriented and self-motivated with good organizational skills.

    The ability to determine the most effective and efficient method to accomplish work objectives and goals and to work under minimal supervision.

    Ability to build and maintain effective and professional relationships with officers and employees at National Headquarters and throughout the territories.

    Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department.

    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    Ability to meet attendance requirements.

    Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate the English language.

    Demonstrated research and analytical skills

    Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration

    Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision when needed

    Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
