About the Position
The Executive Director is a visionary and entrepreneurial leader responsible for executing the
strategic plan, driving fundraising growth, and ensuring successful program delivery. The
Executive Director will be a compelling public advocate, an effective relationship-builder, and a
steward of a collaborative organizational culture. This is a hybrid role that includes site-based
engagement at schools for direct program support and visibility as well as regular co-working
collaboration with program staff.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Vision
● Lead strategic planning and implementation.
● Champion a growth-oriented and inclusive culture.
● Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors.
Fundraising & Revenue Generation
● Develop and lead a multi-channel fundraising strategy.
● Secure major gifts, grants, and corporate partnerships.
● Oversee all donor stewardship efforts and fundraising events.
External Relations & Brand Building
● Serve as public spokesperson and increase brand visibility.
● Represent SCORES at community events and in the media.
● Establish public and private partnerships to advance the mission.
Program Delivery & Innovation
● Ensure high-quality delivery of soccer, poetry, and service programs.
● Support staff with evaluation tools to track program impact.
● Strengthen school and community partnerships.
Staff Development & Internal Culture
● Lead, manage, and support a diverse staff team.
● Promote a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture.
● Oversee hiring, training, and performance reviews.
Financial & Operational Management
● Develop and manage the organization's annual budget.
● Ensure fiscal integrity and compliance with legal requirements.
● Report regularly to the Board on financial and operational health.
Qualifications & Experience
● At least 5 years of nonprofit or mission-driven leadership experience.
● Demonstrated success in fundraising and external partnerships.
● Strong organizational, financial, and communication skills.
● Deep commitment to youth development and educational equity.
● Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary in the range of $75-95k, commensurate
with the role’s responsibilities and the candidate’s experience. Benefits include health insurance,
paid time off, professional development, and a flexible work schedule.
