    Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFO): Greater Boston Office of CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis)

    CAMERA, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, seeks to hire a full-time Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFO) to work in the organization's headquarters in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. The CFO will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and be responsible for managing all aspects of the organization’s finances, human resources (HR), and administrative services.

    Responsibilities of the Position

    • Develop annual budget, in partnership with executive leadership; ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP; and provide ongoing visibility to operational leaders, enabling well-informed allocation of spending/resources
    • Manage, and continuously improve, financial reporting and day-to-day processing of donations, payments and reimbursements, including documentation thereof; identify and implement tooling required to boost efficiency and effectiveness
    • Clearly communicate strategic recommendations, based on financial analysis and projections, to inform decision-making
    • Ensure compliance with all financial, legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to the nonprofit sector, and establish / maintain pertinent controls and safeguards
    • Coordinate and collaborate with the organization’s treasurer and other members of the board of directors as needed
    • Work with and support the organization's independent auditor and the preparation of the annual audit
    • Partner with Chief Operating Officer (COO) on tooling, process architecture and coordination with core CAMERA programs
    • Collaborate with development team to support fundraising, grant applications, donor record-keeping, and bequests
    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners (e.g. bank, auditors, software vendors)
    • Oversee Human Resources functions and personnel
    • Supervise bookkeeper, accountant, and other personnel supporting financial services
    • Manage administrative staff, develop and lead team, establishing and refining core competencies
    • Manage all aspects of administrative services, including vendor selection and management, facilities, technology, information services, support services

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Commitment to the goals of CAMERA which aim to expose and correct media misinformation and bias against Israel and anti-Jewish bigotry
    • Self-motivated and capable of recognizing issues of concern to CAMERA
    • Ability to inspire, lead, and develop a successful and cohesive team
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excels in navigating ambiguity and establishing new processes
    • Expertise in Excel; proficiency in QuickBooks and SalesForce, a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred, but not required)
    • 10+ years experience in the financial industry or overseeing financial services of organizations
    • 5+ years in a senior leadership role
