    Description

    About the organization

NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (or NGO CSW/NY) is a convener of global civil society for the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and global gender equality advocacy. Each year, the annual CSW session takes place for two weeks in March at the UN headquarters in New York.

Founded in 1972, we are a coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, and individuals concerned with gender equality and the rights and empowerment of women and girls. NGO CSW/NY's main project is organizing the annual NGO CSW Forum in order to bridge the gap between global civil society and grassroots organizations, and the official UN Commission on the Status of Women. We are a volunteer-based, non-profit (501(c)3) organization funded largely by individual contributions and foundation grants. To learn more about our work, please visit https://ngocsw.org/.

    About the job

We are looking for a forum producer to work with us from 1 October 2025 to 30 April 2026 to support coordination of our NGO CSW Forum. While the NGO CSW Forum runs parallel to and complements the UN CSW, it is a separate process with different organizers. The NGO CSW Forum is organized by and for global civil society, non-governmental organizations, individuals and feminists working for the rights and empowerment of women and girls to connect them with the official UN CSW process. The NGO CSW Forum, held in a hybrid format, will engage our 50,000 global members in-person and online through hundreds of events, including informal conversation circles, regional caucuses and networking opportunities.

    We cannot sponsor visas.

    Overview of responsibilities

The producer will work under the supervision of the Co-Chairs of NGO CSW/NY in the following areas to produce a successful CSW70 forum:

    • Support the organization and implementation of the NGO CSW Forum, which will be held from 9 to 20 March 2026 outside of the UN Headquarters in New York City.
    • Facilitate and implement the work of the Forum Planning efforts
      • NGO CSW Forum Consultation Day
      • Parallel Events
      • Handbook, Exhibitors and Advertising
      • Conversation Circles and Regional Caucuses
      • Orientation and Advocacy Training
      • NGO CSW Forum informational sessions
    • Work with the Co-Chairs to support the Subcommittees
    • Co-lead the development and management of a technological platform to host the virtual engagement of global members in the hybrid NGO CSW Forum.
    • Spearhead the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for the NGO CSW Forum
    • Coordinate volunteers and staff to support online and in-person events during the NGO CSW Forum, and ensure all participants in the hybrid forum are connected, supported and informed in their engagement.
    • Work with the Communications Subcommittee, Office Coordinator and Communications Intern to develop and implement a plan for meaningful engagement with our membership and broader civil society organizations about participation in the Forum.
