    Description

    We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Plymouth, Michigan providing recreational programming to individuals with disabilities of all ages. Established in 2011, we have a custom baseball field to accommodate wheelchairs and other devices. On top of our successful baseball program, we now provide year round activities for our special needs families. We are a small organization who is growing to meet demand. We are looking for positive and passionate employees to help us continue our mission!

    We’re looking for a Event Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you’ll help execute on-the-ground duties to ensure our events run smoothly. While most events take place at our baseball field, we also host offsite events at local bowling alleys, recreation centers, and occasionally in Downtown Detroit at venues like Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena, and other major locations in support of our nonprofit mission.

    We offer a flexible schedule with short, manageable shifts—perfect for those looking to make a meaningful impact without a long shift commitment. We average between 4-10 hours a week with opportunities for additional hours if requested.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the Executive Director and other MLP Managers on the planning of upcoming events for special needs individuals and families
    • Assign/train volunteers at event
    • Ability to fill volunteer positions needed if unable to fill to ensure event success
    • Take photos/videos to capture event success for social media and other marketing
    • Post event pictures/videos on social media with verbiage recapping events and moments
    • Represent the organization at local fairs, schools, events to help recruit volunteers and donations for the organization

    Qualifications:

    • Interactions with children/adults with special needs
    • Familiarity with Facebook & Instagram
    • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
    • Deadline and detail-oriented
    • Ability to work well in teams
    • Physically able to lift and carrying items for event set up/tear down not excessing 50lb
    • Positive and professional demeanor to represent non-profit and its mission
