    Description

    Saint Peter School is looking for enthusiastic and organized aftercare teachers interested in joining a team of teaching professionals. Aftercare teachers work with students from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily, and 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. one Friday a month. Teachers supervise students as they complete homework, socialize and play. Duties of Aftercare teachers include, but are not limited to, the following:

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Taking daily attendance
    • Planning and executing educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
    • Supervising students during reactional activities
    • Observing and understanding student behaviors
    • Monitoring students for allergic reactions
    • Reporting injuries or behavioral issues to director immediately
    • Ensuring constant communication with reception desk teacher so students can be dismissed promptly
    • Providing students with orderly and quiet environments to complete homework
    • Encouraging students to be respectful of the school and property by leaving classroom, hallways, and activity area neat and orderly

    SKILLS

    • Knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Well-organized, creative, and energetic
    • Strong moral values and discipline
    • Knowledge of CPR, First Aid and use of the AED
