    About the Non-Profit Finance Manager Position:

    As Finance Manager, you will serve as DVRP’s senior accountant and a key strategic partner in managing the organization's financial health. This role combines day-to-day accounting functions with high-level reporting and analysis. You’ll help ensure accurate financial operations, uphold compliance standards, and support organizational growth through timely insights and collaboration.

    Responsibilities:

    Accounting & Financial Management

    • Create grant application budgets and submit them in coordination with the Executive Director.
    • Prepare the annual organization budget, due by September, and update the budget during the fiscal year as requested.
    • Generate actual vs. budget reports for each grant on a monthly basis.
    • Process and implement grant modifications as needed.
    • Develop and maintain a cost allocation plan.
    • Oversee bi-weekly organizational purchases in accordance with line-item budgets and funding availability
    • Process employee reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and approval, on a bi-weekly basis.
    • Maintain and update payroll allocation spreadsheets by the 5th of each month.
    • Process payments through Bill.com according to the organization's schedule.
    • Collaborate with external auditors for the annual fiscal and/or single audit.
    • Post credit card transactions on no less than a monthly basis, ensuring proper documentation and approval.

    Reporting & Communication

    • Participate in monthly meetings with the Finance Committee and provide financial updates.
    • Meet with grantors as needed to review financials and grant status.
    • Prepare and submit reimbursement requests or drawdowns for grants.
    • Prepare and organize financial documentation in advance of grant monitoring visits.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
    • Minimum of 4-5 years of non-profit accounting experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management and grant accounting.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
    • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience with cost allocation and project accounting.
    • Prior experience working with nonprofit organizations and grants.
    • Knowledge of Gender Based Violence in immigrant and refugee communities

    Eligibility:

    Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States
    • Residence within travel vicinity of the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area

    DVRP recognizes and support healthy work-life balance policies, including operating on a 35-hour workweek, and offers a generous benefits package, including 20 days of paid vacation, 10 days of sick leave, 4 paid R&R leave, 11 paid Federal holidays and end of the year office closing days from Christmas to New Years Day. Additionally, the office is closed for staff rest and recuperation for a week in August. Staff also may have access to up to wellness funds/fiscal year.
