    Reporting Relationship

    The Senior Manager, Legal Operations is on the Administration team and will report to the General Counsel.

    Position Overview

    The Senior Manager, Legal Operations will lead and optimize the legal department’s operational, technology, and cross-department communication initiatives. This role is responsible for process improvement, technology administration, financial oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, experience with legal technology platforms, and a proactive approach to driving efficiency and value within the legal function.

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Process Improvement, Team Support, and Client Communication

    • Develop and manage systems to track incoming legal requests and manage requests to ensure attorney and staff workload is balanced in accordance with leadership’s priorities.
    • Identify pain points in legal processes, collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions, and implement process improvements.
    • Serve as the liaison between the Legal Department and other departments to collaborate on matter refinement, proper staff assignments and matter resolution.

    Compliance & Risk Management

    • Develop and monitor a Legal Department calendar to track recurring compliance obligations.
    • Develop and support compliance policies and procedures related to lobbying, conflicts of interest, insurance, and state charity registration.
    • Support other compliance and risk management initiatives.

    Legal Technology & Systems Administration

    • Oversee the integration of legal technology tools, evaluate new solutions for contract lifecycle management, and ensure seamless adoption across the organization.
    • Collaborate with attorneys to manage turnaround time metrics and implement improvements.
    • Establish and maintain a Legal Department playbook and best practices documentation.

    Additional Typical Responsibilities

    • Support the General Counsel in developing and executing strategic plans for legal and risk management, including historical analysis, current state assessment, future vision, goal setting, and action planning.
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for Legal Department efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Drive initiatives for knowledge management, document retention, and training for and by the Legal Department.
    • Track outside counsel spending and manage billing and invoice inquiries.
    • Manage annual financial audit requests and coordinate responses.
    • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the Legal team and between the Legal team and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 5+ years of experience in compliance, legal operations, law firm administration, or in-house legal department management.
    • Proven expertise in legal technology platforms.
    • Strong financial acumen and experience managing legal budgets and spending.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

    Salary and Benefits

    Robin Hood offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range determined by years of experience, skills, and abilities. Each candidate’s placement within the range will be based on these factors while ensuring alignment with our commitment to equitable internal pay practices.

    Our extensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, and a 12% employer contribution to a 401(a) retirement plan. We also support a healthy work-life balance by providing new hires with 20 days of accrued paid time off. This position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work environment. Employees are required to work on-site three (3) days per week, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday designated as the standard in-office days. Please note that the hybrid schedule is subject to change based on organizational priorities and team needs. Any adjustments will be communicated well in advance.

    The salary range for this position is $123,000 – $140,000.
