    Description

Help Students from Low-Income Backgrounds Succeed!

UPchieve is a nonprofit providing free, 24/7 online tutoring to low-income 6th-12th grade students. Our mission is to democratize access to academic support so that all students have an equal opportunity to finish high school, attend college, and achieve upward mobility.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and confident Presentation Facilitator to join our team on a short-term contract. In this role, you’ll visit schools and deliver in-person presentations to help students learn how to use our online tutoring platform. Your job is simple but powerful: light a spark, show them what’s possible, and get them signed up.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys public speaking, thrives in front of a classroom, and wants to make a tangible impact—especially in underserved communities. Think mission-driven hustle with a meaningful twist. You’ll be a crucial first touchpoint between students and a service designed just for them.

This might be the right role for you if:

    • You care deeply about equity in education and love working with middle and high school
    • students.
    • You’re a confident and engaging public speaker who knows how to hold the attention of
    • a classroom (or auditorium!).
    • You’re reliable, organized, and comfortable managing a flexible, school-based schedule.
    • You’re tech-savvy and quick to learn new platforms so you can teach them to others.

    What you’ll do:

    • Deliver clear, engaging in-person presentations at middle and high schools to introduce
    • students to our online tutoring platform.
    • Demonstrate the platform’s key features, show students how to sign up, and support
    • them in completing the registration process.
    • Answer basic questions from students and staff about the platform and its benefits.
    • Coordinate closely with school staff and our internal team to ensure presentations run
    • smoothly and are tailored to each audience.
    • Track attendance, feedback, and engagement metrics from each visit to inform future
    • outreach efforts.

    Details:

    • Duration: Contract runs from August through October.
    • Hours: Variable, based on presentation schedule; most presentations will take place
    • during school hours.
    • Pay: $50/hour for time spent delivering presentations; onboarding time at $15/hour.

Location: In-person at school sites in Kansas City; must live within one hour of Kansas City and be available for travel to local schools.

    Location and Skill Requirements:

    • Comfortable using digital tools and demonstrating tech platforms in a clear, student-friendly way.
    • Confident and engaging presenter, especially in school settings with middle and high school students.
    • Experience teaching, tutoring, or presenting in school settings preferred.
    • Background in education, edtech, youth development, or similar fields, especially with
    • low-income middle and/or high school students preferred.
    • Bilingual skills are a plus (especially Spanish).

Help us make sure every student knows support is just a click away.

Apply now and be part of the movement to make academic help accessible to all.
