    Description

    AMAAD is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Youth Development and Diversion Coordinator (YDD-C). Reporting to the YDD Program Manager, the YDD-C is responsible for designing and implementing programs that support the personal, social, and academic development of young individuals from middle school to college and career. The coordinator collaborates with community organizations, schools, and families to promote resources and activities to build essential life skills.

    DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Design, plan, and implement youth development and diversion programs to meet community needs.
      • Adapt existing programs based on feedback and assessment, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
      • Maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local agencies to promote program outreach and support.
      • Work with law enforcement, juvenile justice, and social service agencies to identify at-risk youth and connect them to appropriate resources.
      • Facilitate workshops, mentoring sessions, and group activities that promote personal, social, and academic development for youth participants.
      • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to youth, helping to set and achieve goals (i.e., academic, personal, professional).
      • Support recruitment, training, and supervision of program volunteers (i.e., mentors), ensuring effectiveness in their roles.
      • Collect and analyze data to make informed decisions about program improvements and report on program impact.
      • Organize community events to promote the program and encourage youth participation.
      • Collaborate with mental health professionals to support the emotional and behavioral needs of at-risk youth.
      • Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant engagement, and outcomes.
      • Perform other duties as requested.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Computer skills required: Spreadsheet Software (Excel), Word Processing Software (Word), Electronic Mail Software (Outlook), and Presentation Software (PowerPoint).

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

      • Occasionally required to lift items up to 25 pounds
      • California Driver’s License Required

    COMMITMENT:

    • Monday through Friday, approximately 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasionally later with some weekends, depending on programming)
