    Description

    The Immigration Center for Women and Children (ICWC) seeks a part-time Operations Associate who will be based in its Los Angeles office. ICWC is a non-profit legal organization providing free and affordable immigration services to underrepresented women and children in California and Nevada. ICWC strives to provide security and stability for children who are abused, abandoned, or neglected and for immigrants who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other violent crimes. ICWC works with federal immigration laws that allow survivors to apply for work authorization, lawful permanent residency, and citizenship.

    ICWC’s team is recognized nationally for their humanitarian immigration law expertise and for the exceptional legal services they provide to immigrants who are survivors of violent crimes. To date, ICWC has served more than 75,000 individuals. More information about ICWC is available at www.icwclaw.org.

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    The Operations Associate will provide on-site support for a range of operational tasks in ICWC’s Los Angeles office. The Operations Associate will also provide support for administrative and data entry tasks as needed. The successful candidate must be a highly organized problem solver, energetic, and flexible to handle multiple assignments in a dynamic environment where immigration policies and grant requirements are regularly shifting. The position is part-time (20-25 hours per week) and temporary (6 months) with potential for a permanent position.

    The responsibilities include:

    Program Services Support

    • Collaborate with program staff to collect information for regular grant reporting and track deliverables to meet contract requirements
    • Assist with client-facing tasks to support ICWC’s program staff, including communicating with clients, scheduling appointments, and drafting and compiling documents to assist ICWC’s legal team

    Facilities Support

    • Provide on-site facilities support for the Los Angeles office, including coordinating space planning, office moves, and workstation setups
    • Coordinate office meetings and events
    • Liaise with IT Consultants to monitor technology needs and to provide on-site assistance troubleshooting IT issues
    • Provide coverage for reception, mail processing, deliveries, and shipping logistics when needed

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of office administration experience (non-profit preferred);
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Google docs, and SharePoint;
    • Meticulous attention to detail;
    • Demonstrated ability to write and edit clear and grammatically correct content;
    • Technologically savvy and adept at working with ICWC IT staff;
    • Spanish language skills required;
    • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required, for occasional office errands.

    This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week. The salary range is $23 to $26 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits for part-time employees include 13 paid holidays per year, paid days off on weekdays between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and 1.25 days of Paid Time Off per month to be used for vacation or personal days.
