    Description

Habibi.Works is hiring: Project Coordinator + Fundraising Officer

    Location: Katsikas, Ioannina, Greece

    Start Date: August/September 2025

    Apply by: July 21th, 2025

    Email: recruiting@soupandsocks.eu

Stipend: 420 EUR/month + bonus, accommodation, and meals on working days

We are looking for a committed and motivated individual to join the coordination team at Habibi.Works, an independent makerspace and community hub in Northern Greece, located next to the refugee camp in Katsikas. The role combines general coordination responsibilities with a strong focus on fundraising, a critical area that sustains the long-term sustainability and independence of the project.

As part of a team of around 15 people, you will play a key role in holding space for daily operations, supporting team wellbeing, and ensuring that the project continues to run smoothly. You’ll help orient new volunteers, facilitate team meetings, and contribute to strategic decisions — all within a horizontal, consensus-based structure that prioritizes care, accountability, and inclusion.

In your fundraising role, you will lead on donor communication, grant writing, proposal development, and crowdfunding efforts, ensuring Habibi.Works can continue to operate without government or EU funding. You will collaborate with the current fundraising lead during a structured onboarding and handover phase.

    This position requires:

✔️ EU citizenship (a requirement for legal employment)

✔️ Excellent written and spoken English

✔️ Experience in project coordination and fundraising

✔️ Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team management skills

✔️ A solid understanding of or interest in grassroots, community-based work in migration contexts

    ✔️ A valid driver's license

    Bonus points for:

➕ Experience in the Greek or broader European migration context

➕ Familiarity with any of our project areas (e.g. media, woodworking, education, kitchen, sewing, etc.)

➕ Knowledge of additional languages (Greek, Arabic, Farsi, French, German, Somali...)

    What we offer:

    • Greek working contract with health insurance
    • Private room in shared flat for long-term team members
    • Free hot dinners and additional food support on workdays
    • Two consecutive days off per week (Sunday & Monday)
    • A dynamic, international team committed to solidarity, justice, and mutual support

Habibi.Works is not a traditional aid project — it’s a space that centers empowerment, creativity, and collaboration. If you’re passionate about building sustainable alternatives and want to take on a meaningful, hands-on leadership role, we’d love to hear from you.
