    Description

    About the Role

We’re looking for a UK-based Finance Assistant to join our Finance team to support the smooth and accurate running of our global financial operations.

The Finance team is responsible for financial administration, bookkeeping, compliance, reporting, and enabling seamless operations across our entities in the UK, US, and Germany. Managed by the Financial Controller, you’ll be a key member of a small and collaborative team, primarily supporting our US operations and working closely with colleagues in both the UK and US. You’ll take ownership of core finance processes, help with reconciliations and documentation, and play a key role in month-end and audit readiness.

    What You’ll Do

    • Process and categorise financial transactions across multiple entities using Sage Intacct
    • Manage staff expense reimbursements and spending platforms (e.g. Spendesk, Expensify)
    • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts in GBP, USD, and EUR
    • Support month-end processes, including journal entries and ledger reviews
    • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for all finance activities
    • Set up and coordinate payments, including grant disbursements and vendor invoices
    • Assist in responding to finance-related queries and resolving discrepancies
    • Help onboard new team members with finance systems and processes

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and conscientious finance professional with a passion for social impact. You’ll be excited to grow your finance skills in a mission-driven team, to take initiative, and to work collaboratively across the organisation.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

    • A strong interest in Founders Pledge’s mission and commitment to social impact generally
    • Proven experience with bookkeeping or finance admin, ideally in a small or fast-paced team
    • A solid foundation in UK accounting principles—through qualifications (e.g. AAT, ACCA) or UK-based experience
    • Familiarity with financial tools such as Excel, Google Workspace, and ideally Sage Intacct, Spendesk, or Expensify
    • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through on tasks independently
    • A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
    • The ability to consistently work the required hours of 9:30am–6:30pm UK time to support US operations

    Bonus points if you have:

    • Experience in an international organisation or working with global teams
    • Availability to occasionally work from our London office to support collaboration and learning

    Location and Travel Requirements

This role is based in the UK, with London preferred for occasional in-person team days. It requires consistent working hours of 9:30am–6:30pm UK time, Monday to Friday, to ensure overlap with our US-based colleagues.

All staff may also be required to attend team offsites once per year (or more), location TBC. Additionally, all staff may be required to attend a global offsite annually.

    Why Work With Us?

You can find more about the benefits we offer here, but what makes us truly special is both our mission and our people.

We’re a diverse team, from both charitable and commercial backgrounds, who believe that amazing things can happen when we tackle problems together.

We offer a flat structure and an opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Founders Pledge. We seek people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds, who share our drive to understand and solve complex social challenges.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems requires different perspectives and unique ways of thinking, and we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can do their best work.
