Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Compliance: Direct program strategy and operations; update HUD/HCD income limits annually across all materials; maintain policies and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Pipeline, Selection & Support: Drive outreach and marketing for new builds and resales; lead orientations and community presentations; manage family selection and Board approvals; oversee annual homeowner certifications and post-purchase engagement.
- Lending & Underwriting: Build lender partnerships; secure lender approval for Habitat’s program; align underwriting standards; review/approve families against program and lender criteria; cross-train staff on qualification and underwriting; support DPA and grant opportunities; monitor sales prices and project revenue.
- Closings & Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure timely, compliant closings; collaborate with Housing Development and other teams for seamless homeowner experience and events (Welcome Home, Dedications, fundraisers).
- Data, Reporting & Communications: Ensure data integrity in the homeowner database; produce reports for leadership, Board, funders, and agencies; manage targeted homeowner communications in Salesforce or similar tools.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop staff; model inclusive, mission-aligned leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience will be fully considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in real estate, mortgage lending, first-time home buyer assistance programs and community engagement
- 5+ years of experience managing programs, staff, or community initiatives.
- Background in real estate, mortgage lending, or first-time homebuyer programs.
- Knowledge of affordable housing, compliance requirements, and lending practices.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Must have a valid California driver's license
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Habitat OC offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
