    Description

    Shakespeare Theatre Company, a nationally recognized LORT B+ theatre, is seeking a Senior Director of Learning with a passion for arts education. The Senior Director is responsible for the successful execution and healthy fiscal management of the Learning programs and discussion series exploring classical theatre at STC. This position provides leadership for three staff positions as well as a team of talented Teaching Artists, covering areas that include school programs, training programs, and our annual Camp Shakespeare. The Senior Director works in tandem with other Senior Staff to construct, implement and assess institutional initiatives, fundraising opportunities, and audience development strategies in Learning, Marketing, and Development departments. They represent theatre locally, nationally, and internationally to funders, peer organizations, associations, and schools regarding education and the mission of STC. The Senior Director will have a unique opportunity to assess and update the Learning opportunities offered at the theatre, as well as to craft their own teaching portfolio. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $95,000 - $105,000.

    The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Theatre, Arts Administration, Theatre Education and/or Arts Education or a corresponding Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent professional experience. Additional 5 to 7 years of theatre and arts education experience with strong knowledge of evaluation, assessment, and Shakespeare, as well as supervisory experience at a senior staff level. Must be theatre and education literate and knowledgeable with specific training in theatre arts (acting, directing, production). Requires superior communication abilities, creative and technical writing skills, as well as advanced dramaturgical or research capabilities. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft Office products.
