Building on its early success, Repair will expand the Bridge Building Service Corps, launching new cohorts focused on priority communities. Repair has implemented five Bridge Building Service Corps cohorts to date and will implement 24 more over the next five years. In preparation, Repair will first codify the core model based on learnings from its own programs and bridge building best practices from the field. This new senior role is responsible for embedding best-in-class bridge building approaches across all of Repair’s service programs including standalone offerings, as well as the Immersive Service Programs like the Bridge Building Service Corps, and equipping staff, partners, and community members to foster authentic connection across lines of difference.

This leader will oversee a dynamic portfolio that includes curriculum development, training and capacity building, evaluation and learning, partnership cultivation, and internal strategy alignment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned educator, coalition-builder, and strategist with deep experience in intergroup relations and dialogue facilitation, grounded in an understanding of Jewish life and values.

As a member of the Field Activation Team, the Senior Director of Bridge Building will report to the Senior Director of Field Activation Strategy. This person will ideally be located in or near the communities where Repair directly operates programs (Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Boulder, CO; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA is preferred).

    Key responsibilities include:

    Strategy & Leadership

    • Lead the national strategy to advance bridge building as a core component of Repair’s mission and model.
    • Codify Repair’s bridge building approach, drawing on internal insights and external best practices, to develop a scalable, impact-driven model.
    • Supervise and support Bridge Building Educators at Repair and consultants working on curriculum and facilitation tools.

    Program & Curriculum Development

    • Oversee the development and refinement of curriculum for Bridge Building Service Corps cohorts, leveraging evaluation insights.
    • Guide the integration of bridge-building into Repair’s broader service programs (Service Corps and standalone), ensuring accessibility and resonance for Jewish and non-Jewish participants alike.
    • Collaborate with content and training teams to ensure curricula are inclusive, reflective of partner identities, and informed by local context.
    • Further enhances its bridge building approach for programs with organizations like Project Shema, Resetting the Table, and Constructive Dialogue Institute.

    Training, Evaluation, & Capacity Building

    • Design and deliver training programs for staff, Service Corps members, partners, and volunteers to strengthen skills in intergroup dialogue and relationship building across lines of difference.
    • Partner with leading dialogue and education organizations (e.g., Project Shema, Resetting the Table, Constructive Dialogue Institute) to integrate advanced tools and frameworks into Repair’s network.
    • Lead, develop, and refine metrics that assess the impact of bridge-building programs on participants and communities in collaboration with the MEL (Measurement, Evaluation & Learning) team and consultants.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and adaptation across all bridge building initiatives, leveraging evaluation insights.

    Partnerships & Field Leadership

    • Cultivate relationships with bridge building organizations (e.g., Black and Jewish Leaders of Tomorrow) to co-create content and co-lead programs.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and participate in cross-organizational teams to support wider organizational goals.
    • Represent Repair in national and field-wide conversations about service, antisemitism, and community bridging.
    • Support partnership staff and service hubs to develop local bridge building initiatives rooted in shared values and local needs.

    ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

    The ideal candidates will bring:

    • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Jewish education, service learning, interfaith/intercultural dialogue, social justice, or community-building.
    • Demonstrated expertise in bridge building, group facilitation, or DEI strategy—especially in settings involving young adults.
    • Deep understanding of Jewish culture, values, and community; strong familiarity with issues of antisemitism, racism, and intergroup tension in the U.S.
    • Experience managing staff and/or contractors; ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building trust across lines of difference.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven environment.

    ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

    Overview

Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world, igniting a lifelong commitment to service. Repair believes service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. In 2009, Repair the World began elevating meaningful service as a defining element of Jewish life by engaging Jewish young adults in service and learning to meet pressing local needs. Today, Repair leads the Jewish service movement, connecting Jews and their neighbors to volunteer opportunities that always include meaningful Jewish learning. Repair hosts volunteer opportunities in cities across the country, and partners with major Jewish organizations—like Hillels, JCCs, and Federations—to bring Jewish service to people all over the world.

    Impact

By 2030, Repair the World will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service and learning to repair the world. Amid rising antisemitism after October 7th, Repair the World provided an essential entry point for Jews across the country, deepening Jewish identity and engagement, contributing impactful service hours, and forming new community partnerships. Repair the World saw unprecedented growth, significantly increasing the number of participants who contributed meaningful acts of service and learning.

We deeply value the diversity of insight, perspective, and experience brought by people from backgrounds typically underrepresented in Jewish institutions. This includes Black, Latinx, and Asian people, Black Jews, Jews of Color, Sephardi and Mizrachi Jews, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities. We also welcome applications from people of diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds. The organization provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, alienage or citizenship status, creed, genetic predisposition or carrier status, national origin, disability condition, marital status, status as a disabled or Vietnam era veteran, or any other protected characteristic as established by law. In addition, the organization affirmatively seeks to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity as it applies to all policies and procedures relating to recruitment and hiring, compensation, benefits, termination, and all other terms and conditions of employment.
