    Description

Brooklyn Bridge Park, one of the most transformative public projects in New York City in a generation, has revitalized a formerly industrial waterfront into a dynamic 85-acre civic space. Created to be environmentally and financially sustainable, Brooklyn Bridge Park is a model for resilient urban design that reconnects New Yorkers and visitors to the waterfront. Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) operates as a non-profit public benefit corporation of the City of New York and is responsible for the stewardship of the park—maintaining its landscapes, maritime infrastructure, and public amenities. BBP develops and delivers dynamic public programming that weaves together arts and culture, recreation, and environmental education to engage, inspire, and serve a diverse community.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is Brooklyn Bridge Park’s philanthropic partner, dedicated to enhancing every aspect of the Park experience. Through strategic fundraising efforts, the Conservancy supports capital improvements, dynamic public programming, and long-term sustainability initiatives that keep this world-class public space vibrant, welcoming, and accessible for all. The Conservancy cultivates meaningful partnerships with individuals, foundations, and corporations to invest in the Park’s continued growth and success.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is looking to hire a highly organized and detailed oriented Development Associate to provide comprehensive support to the Development team. This position is integral to ensuring the efficiency and integrity of development operations, including data management, gift processing, donor stewardship, and event tracking. Working closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and other development staff, the Associate will help maintain smooth internal systems that power the Conservancy’s fundraising success.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and update donor and prospect data in database with consistent, high-quality entry practices.
    • Generate donor acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and other communications, ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines.
    • Support the tracking of cultivation activities, prospect pipelines, and submission/report deadlines.
    • Provide scheduling and administrative support to the Development team, including calendar management, meeting logistics, and donor visit coordination.
    • Draft correspondence and prepare briefings, presentations, and materials for donor, board, and stakeholder meetings.
    • Organize and maintain digital and physical records, ensuring files are accessible and complete.
    • Maintain pledge tracking and follow-up systems to ensure donor recognition and fulfillment.
    • Assist with the execution of mailings, appeals, and digital fundraising campaigns.
    • Support planning and logistics for fundraising events, including guest and vendor coordination, RSVP and dietary restrictions tracking, materials prep, and on-site event assistance.
    • Track event attendance, donor engagement, and related revenue.
    • Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure timely and accurate recording and reconciliation of donations and gifts and expense reporting.
    • Assist in preparing internal revenue and donor reports, queries, and data exports.
    • Support the development of grant proposals and donor reports through research, content drafting, and document preparation.
    • Conduct research to identify and profile prospective individuals, foundations, and corporate donors.
    • Stay current on fundraising trends, tools, and best practices through trainings and workshops.
    • Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support special events or donor-related activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or administrative support; Bloomerang experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both written and verbally.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; knowledge of fundraising tools and CRMs a plus.
