Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Community & Corporate Engagement plays a key role in cultivating relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community members to advance the mission of Birthday Wishes. This part-time, on-site role combines outreach, donor stewardship, and volunteer project coordination. The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, and able to balance independence with strong collaboration. Success in this role means ensuring an exceptional “customer experience” for all supporters while helping to drive both financial and volunteer contributions.
Responsibilities and duties:
Donor & Partner Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact for donors and corporate partners, providing a welcoming and professional experience.
- Build and nurture relationships to encourage ongoing financial support and volunteer participation.
- Represent the organization at community events, presentations, and corporate engagement activities.
- Develop strategies to deepen donor loyalty and increase giving.
- Participate in and assist at all Birthday Wishes sponsored events (one fall event & one spring event).
Volunteer & Corporate Project Coordination
- Partner with corporate and community groups to plan and execute service projects.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers, including Student Ambassadors and Community Ambassadors.
- Ensure volunteers are engaged, appreciated, and set up for success in their roles.
- Create processes to streamline project planning and implementation.
Community Outreach
- Develop communication plans to expand awareness and engagement within the community.
- Act as a spokesperson at schools, events, and community gatherings.
- Identify opportunities to broaden the organization’s reach and impact.
General & Administrative
- Track engagement activities, donor touchpoints, and project outcomes.
- Contribute to reporting and documentation of donor and volunteer engagement.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the mission.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in donor relations, community outreach, volunteer coordination, or related area
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse groups
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership of projects, and ability to work independently
- Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and partners
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and issue resolution skills
- Excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
