    About the Museum

    The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) is a vital community resource that educates youth and adults about the maritime heritage of Annapolis and the ecology of Chesapeake Bay. With two campuses located on Back Creek, AMM delivers immersive, hands-on programs that foster environmental literacy, stewardship, and a connection to the Bay.

    Position Overview

    The Education Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park’s Education Department. This full-time position supports the Education Director by coordinating logistics, managing systems, handling communications, and ensuring programs run smoothly for students, families, and school partners. Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills are essential for success in this role.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Coordination & Scheduling

    • Serve as primary contact for education program inquiries (phone/email)
    • Schedule and confirm all education programs; manage reservations via Altru, Outlook, and Google tools
    • Coordinate logistics for program delivery, including transportation, staffing, and materials.
    • Maintain the internal education calendar and issue contracts and confirmations
    • Handle scheduling and supervision of education volunteers and contractors supporting programs and events

    System & Data Management

    • Manage Altru, Kenect, Outlook, and Survey Monkey platforms for scheduling and communication
    • Track program attendance, participant demographics, and school status (e.g., Title I, FARMS)
    • Compile evaluation data and generate reports for internal and external use
    • Assist with grant documentation, reporting, and data pulls

    Financial & Administrative Support

    • Process invoices, payments, and reconcile education-related expenses
    • Monitor education supply inventory and reorders as needed
    • Maintain program documentation and support with general office management

    Communications & Outreach

    • Draft and send participant communications via Outlook and Constant Contact
    • Maintain and segment email lists for parents, schools, camps, and other audiences
    • Keep education content on the website current and accurate
    • Update printed marketing materials in park kiosks and public areas

    Program Support

    • Assist with on-site delivery of programs including camps, field trips, and scout events
    • Support aquarium and animal care as needed
    • Represent the Education Department at museum events and community programs

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required
    • 4+ years of experience in administrative or program coordination roles
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM tools (Altru preferred)
    • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate across departments
    • Background check required
