    Job Description

    We are seeking to hire a temporary Organizer in the Family Child care department through 12/31/2025. The organizer will work toward strengthening membership by attending new provider orientations, doing follow up, and training member leaders to do orientations. Work will be 37.5 hours a week and may include evenings and Saturdays.

    General Statement of Duties:

    • Attend orientations and sign new members
    • Follow up with new educators and members that attended orientation
    • Train member leaders to do union pitch during orientations
    • Identify and develop new member leaders

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with organizing 509 members helpful
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (listening and speaking)
    • Strong technology skills (Google Apps, email, web-based apps, database usage)
    • Strong commitment to the labor movement
    • Ability to work both independently and part of a team, particularly with people from diverse backgrounds
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities at the same time, be proactive and maintain flexibility, adaptability, and demonstrate a willingness to learn
    • Possession of an insured, registered vehicle and a valid driver’s license
    • Bilingual preferred (With priority preference for Portuguese/English candidates)

    Supervision Received:

    Reports to Family Childcare Coordinator.

    Supervision Exercised:

    May supervise interns directly; may provide functional supervision for other employees or members on per diem.

    Salary & Benefits

    Effective 1/1/25: $88,426-$100,172 depending on experience/qualifications with excellent benefits.
