    POSITION SUMMARY

    Community Energy Project is seeking someone passionate about working with our clients one-on-one to support their entry into the Energy Friendly Homes Program, a PCEF-funded climate resilience program. The Client Intake Specialist will play a critical role in being one of the first program staff a client may interact with, using their time with the client to collect their household and personal demographic information, answer questions about the program, and coordinate next steps for the program including income verification and a home walk through. This position will have the opportunity to connect with many of Portland's diverse residents across multiple languages and backgrounds, and is a great position for organized candidates who love connecting with and supporting individuals in their community.

    CEP currently operates hybrid with an in-person office based in Portland and ability to work remotely, when possible. However, we do anticipate this role attending in-person meetings and hosting in-person office hours and informational sessions regularly throughout the City of Portland.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Client Intake and Income Verification
      1. Engage and interact with customers one-on-one (on the phone and in-person) to help them complete enrollment into the program
      2. Connect customers requiring additional assistance or accommodations with our Client Navigator team, who will help clients overcome any barriers to accessing or navigating program, understanding eligibility, and completing verification
      3. Verify income following program-approved process and documentation
      4. Learn and adapt program processes for customers, as needed, to ensure cultural awareness and competency.
      5. Track any program or process issues and attend yearly feedback and troubleshooting sessions with the broader team to ensure client needs are being met.
    2. Data Management & Organization
    3. Oversee timely and detailed data entry to ensure client household and demographic information is accurately documented
    4. Collect, store, and analyze personally sensitive data
    5. Use platforms including but not limited to Salesforce, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite
    6. Assist with data analysis and reporting, including contracted quarterly reports

    QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

    1. Experience in managing data: data entry, troubleshooting, data technology, data analysis
    2. A valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle required.
    3. Minimum 4 years experience working with clients directly, including case management, program enrollment or income verification, call center, or similar positions
    4. Interest and excitement for regular phone calls (and in-person meetings) with clients.
    5. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends (with advance warning).
    6. Excellent interpersonal skills—able to communicate effectively on the phone and in-person with diverse individuals and groups of people in a variety of manners.
    7. Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese preferred
    8. Passion for serving community, environmental justice.
    9. Demonstrated personal or professional experience with culturally-informed services to diverse and traditionally underserved groups
    10. Experience and comfort using Salesforce, Excel, Google Suite preferred.
    11. Experience working with interpreters or as an interpreter preferred.

    Benefits: CEP is proud to offer a robust benefits package that includes paying 100% of the monthly premium for employee-only health care coverage. CEP also contributes 3% of the employee’s annual salary to their 403 (b). We offer 10 days of vacation time off per year, 12 days of sick time per year, 11 days of paid time off for nationally recognized holidays, as well as paid days between Christmas and New Years Eve. Eight weeks paid sabbatical at six years.
