    Description

    The Senior Organizer supports Population Connection and Population Connection Action Fund’s field team in building grassroots support for universal access to voluntary family planning services. The Senior Organizer will support the #Fight4HER campaign’s efforts in targeted swing districts across the U.S. working to mobilize people to reach out to their elected government officials and encourage them to support pro-choice policies and increased funding for international planning programs.

    The Senior Organizer will support the four state-based #Fight4HER Field Organizers. This role ensures alignment between national strategy and local execution, providing direct oversight, coaching, and strategic support to organizers working on the ground. Other responsibilities include monitoring current events in target districts, providing existing members and volunteers with materials and information for local advocacy efforts, and supporting Population Connection Action Fund’s electoral efforts – both nonpartisan and partisan.

    Location:

    Hybrid; Washington, D.C. office 2-3 days per week required

    Key responsibilities

    • Work with the field team to develop and execute organizing plans tailored to specific geographic targets (Tucson, AZ; Research Triangle, NC; Las Vegas, NV; greater NH area)
    • Support digital organizing efforts in EveryAction platform
    • Think creatively about opportunities to grow #Fight4HER campaign and bolster efforts
    • Provide regular updates and reports on goals, challenges, and successes
    • Use field data to inform strategic pivots, messaging tweaks, and resource allocation
    • Create toolkits, guides, and templates for consistent execution across states
    • Collaborate across departments (communications, policy, digital) to ensure cohesive strategy
    • Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive volunteer or community data

    Additional responsibilities

    • Coordinate printing of materials and shipping to state-based #Fight4HER field organizers
    • Conduct advocacy and organizing trainings for new staff and volunteers
    • Represent Population Connection Action Fund in regional coalitions or convenings
    • Maintain and update contact lists, calendars, and internal databases
    • Track, collect, and submit expense reports, receipts, and reimbursements in a timely manner
    • Coordinate travel and accommodations for field staff, volunteers, or guest speakers
    • Take meeting notes and synthesize action items for follow-up

    Requirements:

    • Pro-choice: candidates must support every individual’s right to determine their own pregnancy and childbearing outcomes
    • Must have a general understanding and appreciation for the connection between population dynamics and reproductive health advocacy
    • 5 years of relevant work experience (e.g., campaign organizing, political organizing)
    • Experience with social media management and best practices for each platform (Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, X)
    • Independent, curious self-starter who requires minimal day-to-day oversight
    • Strong problem solving skills; resourceful
    • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and flexible
    • Willing and eager to travel, sometimes on short notice

    Desired Qualifications

    Strong proficiency in digital organizing tools, including EveryAction and Hustle

    Familiarity with digital design tools

    Travel

    Regular domestic travel, sometimes on short notice

    Potential large international conferences, not more than once per year

    Annual staff retreat in Virginia in June

    Compensation

    $85,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience; competitive benefits package
