    Asian Americans For Texas (AAFT) is a table of Asian American organizations, convened by Asian Texans for Justice, Emgage TX, OCA-Greater Houston, the SAAVE TX Education Fund, and Woori Juntos.     Job Summary:

    AAFT is seeking a Table Director to spearhead our efforts to build power with Asian American and AMEMSA communities across Texas. They will work in collaboration with the table’s leadership to develop and execute a fundraising plan, manage all administrative and operational activities, and guide the table’s strategy and activities. This is a full-time position, but the Table Director will occasionally work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate campaign and project schedules.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Grants & Development:

    • Collaborate with the Executive Board to set fundraising goals and strategies.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to meet annual revenue targets.
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
    • Identify and procure new grant opportunities, and manage grant writing and reporting.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, such as funder briefings.
    • Prepare and present reports on table performance and initiatives for donors and stakeholders as needed.

    Operations & Administration:

    • Collaborate with the Executive Board to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to advance the table’s mission.
    • Coordinate the table’s advocacy efforts, civic engagement campaigns, and leadership development and capacity building initiatives.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with table members and key stakeholders, including other local and national organizations and tables, lawmakers and government agencies, and community members.
    • Facilitate regular communication and collaboration among table members to maximize impact.
    • Oversee the organization's operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
    • Monitor and evaluate organizational performance, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures regarding matters such as compliance, governance, fiscal oversight, and risk management.
    • Ensure partner compliance with legal, regulatory, and funder requirements, as well as table policies and values.
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring service agreements and deadlines are met.

    Experience and Skill Requirements:

    • At least 3 years of experience working in Asian American, AMEMSA, and immigrant communities strongly preferred.
    • Proven track record of executive leadership in a nonprofit organization or similar setting, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a senior management and/or development role.
    • Demonstrated success in grants and development for a budget of $1,000,000 or more.
    • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and revenue generation.
    • Experience in fundraising and donor relations, including major gifts, grants, and special events.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to effectively navigate conflict.
    • Knowledge of governance best practices, nonprofit structures, and compliance.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to travel locally and occasionally nationally for meetings and events.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for table activities and events.
    • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines and manage operational needs.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Salary and benefits for this position are competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary for this position starts at $90,000.
